Project Type: Student Real Estate Development Challenge Location: Denver, Colorado Services Provided: Planning & Architectural Resource
CLC has served as a planning & architectural resource for NAIOP’s Rocky Mountain Real Estate Challenge for the past three years. The Challenge brings together the best and the brightest real estate students from the University of Denver and the University of Colorado's Real Estate programs to compete as potential developers for selected projects in the Denver Metro area. Here’s a highlight of the projects that CLC has assisted on:
2011: The Crossing at 9 Mile
The 2011 Real Estate Challenge featured the re-development of Regatta Plaza which sits adjacent to Nine Mile Station. CLC worked with a University of Colorado Team who envisioned a lively and affordable TOD community complete with retail, restaurants, apartment buildings and a brand new King Soopers Grocery Store. Their vision also incorporated an iconic bridge from the Nile Mile Light Rail Station serving as the new gateway to Aurora.
2010: Quay Greens
In 2010, CLC worked with a University of Colorado student team who presented the Denver Coliseum project called Quay Greens. The site is the Denver Coliseum, which was to be phased into a clean-tech industrial park that would ultimately become a mixed-use neighborhood consisting of various employment facilities, housing, and entertainment uses. The existing Globeville Landing Park was redesigned to be a sustainable learning park graced with PV panels, wind turbines and stormwater wetlands.
2009: NOVO
In 2009, CLC assisted students with the University of Denver in their development plans for the Rooney Valley in Lakewood, Colorado. The vision included a sustainable mixed-use community completed with an urban winery.
